A CHANGE OF CLIMATE is a body of work exploring the dynamic quality of water as both liquid and ice in response to receding glaciers and icecaps. The powerful forces of nature, the shift of wind and sea are linked to the progression of melting icebergs. And much like the iceberg, there is much more to consider underneath the surface.
Here the iceberg has become a metaphor, carrying with it suggestions of isolation and impermanence. I imagine how the fragility of the planet rests on these tilting masses.
My interest is in the potential of what these paintings reveal to the viewer on many levels of understanding and experience.
